There is more to enjoy here than just the historic structure and train cars themselves. On the walls of the sunroom and waiting areas you will find 13 “animated” clocks. Though unassuming looking at first, wait to see what happens every hour. Kids and adults alike are amazed at what these clocks do. You will have to see for yourself! In addition, our very own Depot Express is traveling around the tracks high in the sky. It is our very own electric train elevated toward the ceiling; it travels through our lounge, waiting area, and telegraph room. This is most kids’ favorite thing to see! Speaking of the waiting area, we have a 125-gallon freshwater aquarium full of fish for you to see there! In addition to these things, there are many items from furniture/decorations to the Governor’s Cup won by Fox Valley Sport (a horse) with a track record-tying time at the Illinois State Fair in 2003. So you see, McCarty’s is much more than just a dining destination!
